DAVID WALLACE

David Wallace, who for many years resided near St. Charles, in Warren county, died on the 2nd of January at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. H. F. Wallace. Besides his sister-in-law, he is survived by one brother, Dr. Wallace of Chicago.

He was born at Fairfield, Pa., in 1840 and was a veteran of the civil war. For a number of years he was engaged in business in St. Charles.

St. Charles

David Wallace, who has been staying with his sister-in-law, Mrs. Geo. Wallace, Sr., died last Sabbath morning, aged about 76 years. Mr. Wallace had been in very poor health for some time, but they did not think the end of life's journey was so near.

Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the Civil War, having served over four years. He has lived in and near St. Charles for a number of years. He and Ephraim Wallace ran a boot and shoe store together.

Funeral services were held at Mrs. Wallace's home Monday afternoon and his remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery west of town.
