A memorial service was held for Mark Louis Waechter at 2:00 p.m. on January 27, 200 at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham, Iowa.
There was an open forum of family members offering memories and personal comments by the public.
Special music was “Kryptonite” by 3 Doors Down, “Mad Hatter” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Candle In The Wind” by Elton John, “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and “Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad” by Meatloaf.
Mark Louis Waechter was born the son of Robert and Joan (Mullahay) Waechter on September 27, 1960 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on January 23, 2008 at the age of 47 years, 3 months and 27 days.
Mark attended West Bend High School and graduated in 1979. He attended Lincoln Tech College in Des Moines, IA with a degree in auto mechanics. On July 18, 1987 Mark married Kari Brown at the Humboldt, IA Catholic Church. This union was blessed with two children: Gregory and Miranda.
Mark was currently working as an auto mechanic at Ramsey Pontiac in Urbandale, IA. Mark loved to watch NASCAR and especially enjoyed motorcycles. Mark loved to drive and often drove his wife and her sister on day trips around Iowa. He loved to go camping with family. He was also a cub scout leader in Earlham.
Mark leaves the following to celebrate his life: wife Kari Waechter of Earlham; son Gregory Waechter of Earlham; daughter Miranda Waechter of Earlham; sister Ellen Elbert and husband Paul of Waldorf, Maryland and niece Becky Elbert of Waldorf, Maryland.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Joan Waechter.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Interment will be held privately by the family at a later date. Kuhn Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
