MATILDA BUSCH

Matilda Busch was born in Brown county, Ohio, Nov. 16, 1858 and died at her home in Macksburg, Iowa, Nov. 6, 1917, aged 58 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

Early in life she united with the Christian Union church at Union Chapel, Brown county, Ohio, of which she was still a member. For the last four years she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Greer and besides working in the New Hope church at Ord was a member of the Clover Club of that community. She suffered a stroke of paralysis at Winterset last April and did not fully recover from the shock. She stayed a few weeks at the home of her brother, Andrew, and then took up her residence in Macksburg.

She leaves to mourn her loss, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hanselman of Georgetown, Ohio, and Mrs. Lizzie Wagner of Cumminsville, Ky., and five brothers: John of Bradford, Ky.; William of Macon, Ohio; Peter of Patterson, Andrew of Orient and Adam of Macksbug; two brothers and two sisters having died some years ago. She also leaves a number of other relatives besides a host of friends. She was always ready and willing to assist those in sickness or trouble, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 8th at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. Mann of the New Hope church. The pall bearers and music were furnished by the same church. Interment was made at the Moon cemetery.
