DAVID FRANKLIN FOSTER

David Franklin Foster was born in Tuscarawas county, Ohio, Nov. 25, 1847. Here he spent his childhood days, coming with his parents to Monroe township, Madison county, Iowa in 1855; living in that locality for a number of years. Here he was married to Jennie Feeley in 1874, and to this union a son, Wendell, was born, who died about four years ago, his mother having died several years before.

In 1889 he was united in marriage to Mary Kennedy. In the seventies, he went west, residing in Plattsmouth, Nebr., for 15 years. From there he moved to Lincoln, where he lived for about 10 years; moving from there to Tacoma, Wash., where he resided until his death, which occurred at Otis, Colo., on Nov. 1, 1917, his age being 69 years, 11 months and 6 days. He made a profession of faith in Christ while living at Lincoln, Nebr., and united with the Methodist church. While at Otis, Colo., he taught a Sunday school class, to which he was faithful until the last.

He leaves to mourn his departure, the companion, a step daughter, Miss Nellie Kennedy; two brothers, John C. and Reuben Foster; two sisters: Mrs. Rachel Reed of Peru and Mrs. Rebecca Lyons of Akron, Ohio; a nephew, A. L. Foster of Winterset and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church Thursday afternoon by Rev. Jackson Giddens, after which the mortal remains were laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
