ORSON HILDEBRAND, California

Orson William Hildebrand Jr. of North Highlands, Calif., died Feb. 24, 2008.

He will be laid to rest today (Wednesday, March 5) at Sacramento Valley V.A. National Cemetery with full military honors.

Orson Hildebrand was born May 1, 1934, to Orson William and Ethel M. Hildebrand Sr. and was a graduate of Winterset High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. Orson also worked as a supervisor at McClellan Air Force Base in North Highlands, Calif., for 39 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Timothy Wayne Hildebrand and Jimmy Francis Hildebrand; and a brother, John Francis Hildebrand.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hildebrand of North Highlands, Calif.; three children — Barry Ray Hildebrand, Clinton Ross Hildebrand and Kimberly Jean Hernandez of the Sacramento area; a brother, Jim Hildebrand of Coon Rapids; and eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many foster children
