LEE EIVINS, CRESTON

Lee Everett Eivins, 78, of Creston died Feb. 18, 2008, at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.

No services or visitation are scheduled. Private burial will be at Moon Cemetery in rural Macksburg. Arrangements were handled by Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Online condolences may be sent to www.powersfh.com .

Lee Eivins was born Oct. 8, 1929, to Claude R. and Josephine M. (Klos) Eivins of Macksburg. He was educated in the Macksburg schools, graduating from Macksburg High School in May 1950. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from Dec. 27, 1950, to Oct. 13, 1954. His marriage to Doris May Allman took place Nov. 1, 1953, in Waterloo. Lee worked in manufacturing and also was a truck driver. He attended Wesley Chapel Methodist Church near Macksburg while growing up.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Eugene Eivins.

He is survived by one son, John Lee Eivins of Williamsburg; one daughter, Susan Trasamar of Waterloo; two sisters, Evelyn Hoepker and Elsie Lamb, both of Creston, a guardian, Doug Brunell of Creston; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
