Mrs. Addie Longmire

Mrs. Addie Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Martin, of Polk City, Iowa, who later moved to De Soto, was born October 2, 1865. She was married to Frank W. Longmire at De Soto November 10, 1883. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Edith Gibbons, Ft. Dodge, Mrs. Gertrude McClintic, Winterset, and Earl of Ft. Dodge, all being present at the funeral. Her companion died about 33 years ago and a few years later she moved to Winterset where she has since made her home, being well-known and having many friends.

A few days before Christmas she went to Ft. She leaves to mourn her death the three children, six grandchildren, two brothers and five sisters, the only one living near being Mrs. Laura Frakes, of Ft. Dodge.

She had never joined any church but affiliated with the Methodist church and about a year ago during the Testament campaign she signed a card to read a chapter a day also sign her acceptance of Christ and expressed her church preference as the Methodist church.

The body arrived in Winterset Monday afternoon accompanied by relatives and funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Jackson Giddens, after which the body was laid to rest in the city cemetery.
