WAYNE KEPHART, NEW MEXICO

Wayne “Red” Kephart, 69, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Feb. 1, 2008.

Cremation has taken place; memorial services will be held at a later date in Datil, N.M., and Peru, Iowa.

Wayne Kephart was born Nov. 16, 1938, in Winterset to Anderson and Mary (Hulbert) Kephart. He was a construction superintendent for Laguna Pueblo from 1988-2005 when he retired due to his health.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Cindy Winningham of Chanute, Kan.; four sons, Kenny of Michigan, Brian of Pflugerville, Texas, and Shawn and Mike, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; five brothers, Harold of Winterset, Jerry of Burleson, Texas, Dale of St. Charles, and Ernest and Everett, both of New Virginia; two sisters, Doris Dolton and Dorothy McDonald, both of Winterset; and 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Died Feb 1, 2008. Memorial graveside services: 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Peru Cemetery. Memorials: Will be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital by family.

Survived locally by brothers, Ernest and Everett, both of New Virginia, Dale of St. Charles, and Harold of Winterset and sisters, Doris Dolton and Dorothy McDonald, both of Winterset. Arrangements handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home, Winterset.
