He grew to manhood in his native state, but came to Winterset, Iowa, Sept. 20, 1877 - 44 years ago. For several years he taught school both in Ohio and Iowa. After some time spent in farming in Madison county, he went to Montana in 1884, where for five years he was engaged in the work of railroad bridge construction. He then returned to Madison county, where he was united in marriage to Miss Leoti Sturman, Jan. 29, 1890. To this union was born one daughter, now Mrs. J. N. Banker of Osceola.

Thirty years of Mr. Forney's life was spent in Madison county, Iowa, and five years in Texas, but for the past three years he has resided in Minnesota.

The deceased had been in failing health for several months, but his death occurred very suddenly at noon on Sept. 8, 1921, as a result of heart trouble. He was a man of high ideals and noble purposes and was an honest, upright and hard working citizen, who was highly respected by all who knew him.

Besides a host of friends, he leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, his daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at the home near Arco, Minn., at 2 o'clock Sunday, Sept. 11 and interment was made in the cemetery at Russell, Minn.
