AUSTIN C. FIELD

Austin C. Field, son of John and Nancy Field, was born in Putman county, Indiana, Nov. 3, 1844 and departed this life at his home in Saint Charles, Sept. 17, 1921, aged 77 years, 9 months and 7 days.

He was married to Catherine Jones in 1864. She died Nov. 3, 1880. To this union were born nine children, two dying in infancy. Those living are John F., Vashini, Wyo; Arista W. and Wiley E. of Des Moines, Nancy Hayden and Relle Hayden of Winterset. He was married again July 17, 1884 to Florence Hutt. To this union were born two children, one dying in infancy, the other, May Denly of Osceola. He also leaves one sister, 28 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of friends.

He joined the Baptist church in his youth and lived a true believer. He was a loving father and a kind and devoted husband.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Monday at 2 p.m., by Rev. L. R. Gaus, after which the remains were taken to the Field cemetery for interment.

St. Charles

A. C. Field, who has been very poorly for a long time, but not confined to his bed until a few days prior to his death, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, aged 77 years, 9 months and 17 days. The funeral services were held in the Christian church Monday, conducted by Rev. Gans and his remains were laid to rest in the Prairie Grove cemetery near Truro.
