JOHN WILLIAMS, San Francisco

John Williams born June 15, 1937; lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 14, 2008. He passed away peacefully with his wife at his side.

John lived a full and happy life, both personally and professionally. John was the devoted husband of Janet Smith Williams; loving father of Thane and Stuart Williams; grandfather of Jessica, Zachary and Jacqueline, and brother of Ardeth Williams Haines. John was preceded in death by his father, Earl; mother, Cleo and his twin Brother Jerry Williams, all of Winterset, Ia.

He graduated from Iowa State University in 1959, and from Stanford University in 1965, with a M.S. degree in civil engineering. John was a civil enginer who worked on many mega water infrastructure projects, both internationally and in the United states.

A private memorial service shall be announced shortly. Donations may be sent in John's name to: South of Market Arts FLG, 934 Brannan St., SF, Ca 94103.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Cleo Clopton Williams, and his twin brother, Jerry Williams, all of Winterset, Iowa.

A private memorial service will be held March 9, 2008, in San Francisco. A local memorial service will be held June 14, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Winterset, Iowa.
