Wednesday, January 19, 1921WILLSON RUTH
Willson Ruth was born in Washington county, Pennsylvania, May 22, 1837 and passed away at his home in Waterloo, Iowa, Jan. 7, 1921, at the age of 83 years, 7 months, 15 days.
In December 1860, he was united in marriage to Emma Jenkins, who remains to mourn his loss. There are two children living: Willard Ruth of Shenandoah, Iowa, and a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Goodell, who resides in Montana. Of Mr. Ruth's immediate family two sisters remain, one living in Winterset, and one in Kansas, and four brothers, three of whom live in Winterset and one in North Dakota.
The family resided in Ohio for seven years, after the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Ruth, and then came to Iowa City, where they lived for some years. They have made their home at Winterset and other cities in Iowa, going to Waterloo about five years ago. Mr. Ruth was a faithful member of the Latter Day Saints.
The sympathy of the neighbors and friends are with those who mourn the loss of a loved one and the Father of us all will do all in His power to sooth the grief during the days of loneliness ahead.
The body was brought to Winterset and funeral services were held from the home of his brother, George Ruth on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Jackson Giddens after which the remains were laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
