Mrs. Margaret Kiser Tullis was born in Ohio, Jan. 23, 1818 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Roberts, near Greenfield, Iowa, on Feb. 23, 1921.
Her parents brought her to Tippecanoe county, Indiana, when two years old, where she grew to womanhood. On Jan. 31, 1849 she was married to John S. Tullis and in August 1858, they came to Iowa reaching Winterset, Oct. 15. They continued to reside in Madison county until March, 1875, when they removed to Adair county, where Mr. Tullis died Dec. 8, 1887. Since that time she has lived most of the time with her daughter.
She leaves one brother, W. H. Kiser of Colfax, only daughter, Mrs. Roberts; her daughter and two sons and the three sons, Art, Jim and Si, and Art's two sons, Cliff and Cap, and two daughters, Mrs. Seaba of Sigourney, Iowa and Mrs. Houston of Calienta, Nevada.

Among the old residents of Madison county who have passed away this winter, is Mrs. Margaret Tullis, widow of the late John I. Tullis. Mrs. Tullis had been living in Adair county since 1875, but resided in this city from 1858 until 1875. She was a sister of W. H. Kiser, now of Colfax; also a former citizen of this city. Besides her daughter, Mrs. Roberts of Greenfield, she has three sons: A. I., James and Si.
Mrs. Tullis’ body was brought here for burial services being conducted in the Church of Christ Friday morning, by Rev. N. C. Carpenter.
