SAMUEL T. BALLARD

Samuel T. Ballard was born May 10, 1833, in West Virginia. In his 23d year he moved to Illinois. The next year he was married to Martha Arrasmith.

Some ten years after they moved to Madison county, where he lived until God called him home.

Twelve children came to their home, of whom only three are living, one daughter and two sons. He was converted and united with the Methodist church in his 18th year and was a faithful member until death. He gave a clear testimony on his death bed that all was well - that he had a home in heaven. He died July 20, 1903, being 70 years, 2 months and 10 days old.
