Mrs. Anna Snow, wife of F. B. Snow, passed from this life on Friday evening, Oct. 17, 1902, after an illness extending over a period of nine weeks. All that mortal hands could do to save her life was done, but without avail, and she passed to her reward as stated above. She was a good woman, a loving wife and kind neighbor, and her loss will be deeply felt outside of the home left desolate by her untimely taking away.

The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon at one o’clock conducted by Rev. Brandenburg of Des Moines, and was attended by a large concourse of friends. The remains were laid away in Earlham cemetery.

Anna Mathews was born July 18, 1859, at Rio, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood and was married to F. B. Snow on Feb. 20, 1884. She joined the Congregational church in 1881, and later transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church, of which denomination she was a faithful member at the time of her death.

She and her husband came to Madison county in 1890, where they had made their home ever since. No children ever blessed this union, but they had an adopted son, who with the husband is left to mourn her loss.
