James Franklin Weeks was born April 25, 1859 at Springfield, Illinois and died at the home of his daughter at Fullerton, Nebr. September 19, 1917, aged 58 years, 4 months and 28 days.
In his boyhood he moved with his parents to Iowa. On December 25, 1878 he was united in marriage to Lyda Riggins. To this union were born eight children, two sons and six daughters, one daughter died in infancy. The beloved wife and mother passed away September 6, 1889.
In early life he and his wife gave themselves into the care of their Master. He was a loving husband, a true father and a good neighbor.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a father and mother, seven children, ten grandchildren, five sisters, two brothers and a host of friends. During the last ten years he was a patient sufferer, never complaining even during the suffering when he was not able to perform the tasks of life. Surely we can say that God has called home one of his children. Old friends and neighbors: Robert Givan, George Thomas, Howard Kivett, Otto Schutz, C. L. White and Andrew Busch were pallbearers. Funeral services were conducted at First Congregational church by Rev. C. W. Basham and interment was made in the Hamblin cemetery.
