Mrs. Elizabeth Nelson Dies

The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Nelson, 82 years old, at Butte, Montana, on January 9th, was noted in news dispatches reaching here last week.

Mrs. Nelson was at one time a prominent resident of Winterset. She was the wife of Dr. Joseph V. Nelson, one of the leading early day physicians of this community. She came to Iowa from Pennsylvania with her parents in 1868, settling in Adair county. At Fontanelle, in 1872, she married Dr. Nelson, and they later came to Winterset, where they made their home for many years. Her husband having died in 1896, Mrs. Nelson left Winterset in 1904, moving to Boulder, Colorado, for three years, then to Butte, Montana, where for the past 28 years she had made her home with a daughter.
