George Walter Cook Jr., 74, of Truro died of kidney failure Dec. 10, 2002 at his home.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 13 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Mike Carlson officiating. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date at New Virginia Cemetery.
George Cook was born Nov. 2, 1928 to George W. and Nellie (Whaley) Cook of DeSoto, Mo. On Aug. 29, 1949 he married Dorothy Lou Hahn. They were the parents of four children. He later was united in marriage to Barbara Joan Hattan on Sept. 18, 1967, in Fairview Heights, Ill. George had been a supervisor at Continental Can. A resident of Truro for the past three and one-half years, he had previously resided in St. Louis and DeSoto, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, three sisters and a son, Daniel Cook.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Truro; a son, Michael Cook of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Kathleen Marlow of Indianola and Karen Willett of Truro; two sisters, Virginia Brownlow of St. Louis, Mo.; and Florence Kinkade of Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He married Dorothy Lou Hahn on Aug. 29, 1949 and they became the parents of four children. Michael, Kathleen, Daniel and Karen.
Mr. Cook married Barbara Joan Hattan on Sep. 18, 1967, in Fairview Heights, Ill.
He was a supervisor for Continental Can and had lived in St. Louis and DeSoto before moving to Truro 3-1/2 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Cook; a brother and three sisters.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife; three children, Michael Cook and his wife, Lori Cook, of St. Louis, Mo., Kathleen Marlow of Indianola and Karen Willett and her husband, Billy Willett of Truro; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Brownlow and her husband, Joe Brownlow of St. Louis and Florence Kinkade of Texas; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Cook were at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Pastor Mike Carlson of the First Baptist Church in Winterset officiating.
Interment of the cremains will be at a later date in the New Virginia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Middle River Hospice or Gideon Bibles.
