Death of Mrs. Ann Gavin

A broken hip, suffered in a fall about six months ago, culminated in the death of Mrs. Ann Gavin Sunday at the home of her daughter in Winterset, Mrs. Jay Kirby. She was 85 years of age.

Mrs. Gavin was one of the pioneers of Warren county, coming here at an early age and spending most of her life in the community around Churchville. Following her injury last fall she was brought to Winterset to be placed in the care of her daughter.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset in charge of the Rev. Father William Hahessy, pastor. Burial was made in the cemetery at Churchville.
