BESSIE RHOADS DIED SUNDAY

Life-Long Resident of the County was 71 Years of Age

Mrs. Earl Rhoads of near Winterset died at her home south of Winterset Sunday November 2, 1967. She was 71 years of age. Mrs. Rhoads was a life long resident of Madison County. She was born in Douglas township January 3, 1897. She was the former Bessie E. Parkins, daughter of Jesse and Eva Bowlsby Parkins. Prior to her marriage she was a teacher in the rural schools of Madison county.

She was married June 11, 1923 to Earl Rhoads who survives her.

Mrs. Rhoads was a member of the New Hope Christian Union church at Ord.

In addition to her husband she leaves a sister, Mrs. Hazel M. Silverthorn of Earlham. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Wilson Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Henry Hermon. Burial was made in the Worthington cemetery.
