Rex Wilder, 84, Dies at Creston

Funeral services for Rex M. Wilder, a former resident of the Macksburg and Lorimor communities were held this Tuesday morning October 1 from the Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home in Creston.

Mr. Wilder died at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston on September 29. He was 84 years of age.

A son of Edward and Lizzie Randolph Wilder, he was born near Ladora, Iowa on May 6, 1890.

On April 12, 1916 he was married to Ethel Busch at Macksburg.

Mr. Wilder worked in banks at Macksburg and Lorimor from 1911 and 1932. He moved to Creston in 1932 and served as the Union County Auditor for 18 years.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Bert Roseberg of Rockford, Ill.; one son, David R. Wilder of Ames; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Duncan of Gettysburg, South Dakota, and Mrs. Charles Lindsay of Marengo, Iowa; and a brother, Frank Wilder of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Officiating at the funeral was the Rev. K. Wayne Hoehns. Burial was in Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.
