An Old Citizen Gone

Mr. W. H. Laizure, of Douglas township, whose serious sickness was noted in these columns last week, died last Tuesday morning. Mr. Laizure was born in Harrison county, Ohio. About 1852 he came to Winterset, where he worked at the carpenter trade for a number of years. In the latter sixties he bought a tract of land in Douglas township, where he opened a fine farm, which for the greater part of the time since his marriage has been his family home, and where he died, and where he has been laid to rest. He was quiet and unassuming; a man of sterling integrity; a good neighbor, and an upright and patriotic citizen. He leaves a widow and several children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. At the time of his death Mr. Laizure was in the 64th year of his age.

Note: Burial was in the McDonald-Chase cemetery.
