RALPH WALDO PACE

Ralph Waldo Pace was born in Madison county Iowa, July 30, 1865 and departed this life October 29, 1915 aged thirty years, two months and twenty-nine days. He grew to manhood and lived in Madison county the greater part of his life, and was educated in the Winterset schools. He acknowledged his faith in Christ in 1908, when twenty-three years of age. Though his delicate state of health prevented any extensive business career, yet he was very faithful as an employee and was respected and admired for his strength of character.

He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted mother, a loving father, three sisters, two brothers and a host of loving friends who will greatly miss him. He was fond of high class reading and lived in the spirit of “So live that when thy summons come to join that innumerable caravan that still moves on where each shall take his chamber in the silent halls of death, Thou go not like the quarry slave at night scourged to his dungeon, but sustained and scothed by an unfaltering trust approach thy grave like one, who wraps the drapery of his couch about him and lies down to pleasant dreams.”

Funeral services (services) were conducted at the Methodist church in Webster by Rev. Grigsby and Clearwater, and the remains laid to rest in Hooten cemetery by the side of two brothers who had gone before.
