Death of Mrs. George Adkins

A fatal illness of several weeks ended in the death August 19 of Mrs. George Adkins, a life long resident of Winterset. She was 61 years old.

Mrs. Adams (Adkins) was born in Winterset in 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Armbrest. She was the former Effie Marie Armbrest. She was married to George Adkins on May 8, 1902. They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive. They are James O. Adkins of Dexter, Fred O. Adkins of Winterset, and Mrs. Rose McDonald of Winterset.

In 1911 Mrs. Adkins united with the Church of Christ in Winterset and in 1932 with the First Church Scientist of Boston, Massachusetts. She was known as a deeply religious woman.

In addition to her children and her husband, she is survived by five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Burd and Mrs. Rose Burd of Winterset, Mrs. John Ward of Redfield and Mrs. Will Roberts of Des Moines; and three brothers, Charles and Eli Armbrest of Winterset and Solomon Armbrest of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis of the Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
