MORTUARY

John H. Wentz

John H., son of Adam and Susan Deeter Wentz, was born in Illinois, February 23, 1852. When he was still a small child the family moved to Kansas where he spent his boyhood and early manhood.

He was united in marriage to Minnie Platt April 10th, 1884. To this union seven children were born. One died in infancy and one son, William, died at fifteen years of age. The other children are; Chas Wentz, Mrs. Bert Reed and Mrs. A. D. Harris of Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Ira McCallister of LaPorte, Indiana; and Mrs. Ray Wright of Winterset.

Soon after their marriage they went to Albia, and later moved to Glenwood, where he made his home for many years. Mrs. Wentz died at Glenwood, July 14, 1896.

In the later years he has made his home with his children and for two years past he has been in Winterset much of the time. In the last months of helplessness he has been a patient sufferer and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ray Wright in Winterset, March 15, 1928, aged 76 years and 21 days.

The funeral services were held in Glenwood Saturday afternoon, March 17th.
