Ethan Allen Pindell, a native of Macksburg, died Wednesday, June 30, 1976, in Creston, Iowa at the Greater Community Hospital. He was 88 years old.

Mr. Pindell was born August 19, 1887, the son of James Madison Pindell and Priscilla Jane Bishop Pindell. His marriage to Letha Witt took place September 28, 1913 at Macksburg.

A retired farmer and stock buyer, Mr. Pindell moved from his residence in Macksburg to a farm east of Creston in 1951. He then moved to Creston proper in October 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Letha, one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Mary Jane) Needham of Afton, Iowa; one son, John M. Pindell of Creston, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Also surviving is a brother, Dr. M. I. PIndell, Sacramento, California, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gustafson, Billings, Montana.

Mr. Pindell was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday July 3, at 1:30 p.m. from Macksburg Methodist Church, Rev. James Morris presiding. Burial was made at Moon Cemetery, Macksburg.
