Ernest Kuhns Dies at 66

Ernest B. Kuhns, 66, died at his home in Creston Saturday February 17.

Ernest Brown Kuhns was born Aug. 10, 1906 at Orient, Iowa, the son of Archie and Elsie Brown Kuhns. He had lived in Orient and Winterset moving to Creston in 1954. He was in the plumbing and heating business.

Mr. Kuhns was married to Gladys Merle Green Nov. 2, 1925. She died Jan. 5, 1951. On April 9, 1955 he married Maggie C. Jackson who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Don (Blanche) Saunders of La Puente, Calif., and Mrs. John (Jean) Baker of Winterset; five sons, Harold Kuhns of Des Moines, Lester Kuhns of Novato, Calif., Russell Kuhns of Creston, Ralph Kuhns of Tucson, Arizona and Robert Kuhns of Winterset; two stepsons, Harold Jackson of Winterset and Albert Jackson of Glenwood Springs, Colo., 28 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and four brothers, Dale Kuhns of Winterset, Lloyd Kuhns of Fremont, Nebr., Floyd Kuhns of Adel and Bob Kuhns of Lewis and one sister Mrs. Betty Railsback of Griswold.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Coens Home for Funerals at Creston, conducted by Rev. J. Heber Miller. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
