R. ORLAND DUFF

R. Orland Duff, 84, 2363 West Hayes, Woodburn, who lived in Hood River for many years, died July 14 at a Woodburn care center.

Born June 30, 1899 to Charles and Otilla Duff in Earlham, Iowa, he and Neva Munt were married April 5, 1920 in Bassett, Neb. They moved to Hood River from South Dakota in 1936. He owned Duff's Garage and later farmed on Belmont Road. He was a member of Hood River Valley Christian Church. He retired in 1962 and with his wife moved to Salem in 1978. In May of this year they moved to Woodburn to be near their daughter.

Survivors include his wife, Neva of Woodburn; a daughter, June Schwarting of Woodburn; a son, Duane of Brenham, Texas; three brothers, Robert of Portland; Lyman of Torrence, Calif.; Raymond of Ames, Iowa; a granddaughter, Bonnie Harrington of North Bend; and a great-granddaughter, Lori Parker of North Bend.

Memorial services were held Sunday at Hood River Valley Christian Church. Graveside services were held Monday at Mt. View Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Naff officiating. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
