Page 1Death of Mrs. Rosette Harford
Mrs. Rosette Harford, well known resident of Winterset for many years, died at her home in Winterset on June 1. She was 77 years old.
Mrs. Harford was born in Wisconsin, the daughter of Collin and Sarah Black, on October 24, 1857. As a young girl she came to Iowa in a covered wagon. On March 26, 1879, she was married to George A. Harford. He died in 1902.
Mr. and Mrs. Harford were the parents of five children. Everett, Milo, and Hazel preceded their mother in death. Mellow Harford of Des Moines and James Harford of Omaha, Nebraska, are the remaining children. She also leaves a brother and a sister.
Funeral services were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home on June 4, in charge of the Rev. L. H. Olmstead. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
