Long-Time Resident Passes After Long Period of Failing Health
James E. Harrison, a life-long resident of the county, died at the Winterset hospital Sunday at the age of 67 years. He had been in poor health for the past two and a half years.
Mr. Harrison was born in this county on July 17, 1872 the son of James and Martha Harrison. His early life was spent in Webster township, where he attended church at the Drake school house and the Webster Methodist church.
Mr. Harrison never married, but lived with his mother until her death. He then made his home with his sister, Mrs. G. W. Gilliland, until her death three years ago. Since then he had made his home on his farm in Webster township. During his recent illness he had been cared for at the home of his niece, Mrs. Alice Thayer of Winterset.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nancy Rudolph; three brothers, C. E. Harrison, Thomas Harrison and Frank Harrison; and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. R. McNichols, pastor of the Methodist church.
Burial was made in the Wight cemetery.
