Obituary -

Mrs. Elizabeth Willis Warren was born in Dearborn county, Ind. Nov 16, 1828, and died near Macksburg April 4, 1905, aged 76 years, 4 months and 18 days.

She was united in marriage January 21st 1847 to Henry F. Gattenby. To this union one son, J. K. Gattenby, was born, who survives her, and with whom she made her home at the time of her death. Her husband Henry F. Gattenby died in 1848.

In 1853 she was again married to Joseph L. Warren. Three children were born to this union all of whom proceeded her to the other world. In 1885 she removed with her husband to Harper county, Kansas, where Mr. Warren died. In 1893 she came to Iowa and resided with her son until her death. Mrs. Warren became a Christian early in life, at her death she had been a member of the Methodist church for 51 years. During the long illness which caused her death she suffered patiently. She had chosen for the text for her funeral sermon, Romans 8: 38, 39. The comforting assurance of the text fittingly illustrates the calm, strong faith in Christ's love with which she entered the valley of the shadow. By the example of her Godly life, "she being dead yet speaketh

The funeral services were held in West Star M. E. church were conducted by Rev. C. E. Trueblood. The interment made in the Macksburg cemetery.

Transcribers note: Burial was make in the Moon Cemetery which is another name for the Macksburg Cemetery.
