Death of MRS. HARRIET C. McCONNELEE

Harriet C. McConnelee was born at Paris, Pa., Oct 22, 1842. She was brought by her parents in early life down the Ohio river on a flatboat and then to Keokuk, Iowa; from that point overland to Winterset, where she made her home for many years.

She was united in marriage Jan. 16, 1867, to Lieut. W. J. McConnelee. To this union three children were born: Rev. J. A. McConnelee, D. D., a missionary at Gujranwala, India and Mrs. E. E. Douglas of Marissa, Ill. A little daughter died in childhood. The family moved to Monmouth, Ill., in the fall of 1887 to educate their children. Mr. McConnelee died Aug. 8, 1914. Since that time Mrs. McConnelee has made her home with her daughter at Marissa, Ill.

She had been a lifelong member of the United Presbyterian church and proved herself faithful to all the interests of the church to the end. Her final illness was not of long duration. The remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the Monmouth, Ill. cemetery. Her death occurred Saturday, Jan. 4th, 1919, at 9 p.m.

The funeral service was held Monday in the church, conducted by Rev. J. P. Nesbit D.D., a classmate of her son John and the burial took place on Tuesday.

This old time resident of Madison county, lived in Scott township until the family removed to Illinois. Her son Rev. Jno. McConnelee graduated from Winterset public schools in 1886 and has been a representative of the United Presbyterian church in India for many years.
