M. Jane Allsup, age 66, of rural Stuart died suddenly at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on December 20, 2007.

Funeral services will be 10 a. m. Monday December 24, 2007 at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with burial in the Earlham Cemetery.

Jane Allsup was co-owner of Allsup Construction of Stuart and also cooked at the Country Kitchen in Stuart. Jane is survived by her mother Martha Smith of Earlham; son Larry Joe Allsup and wife Laurie of Redfield; daughter Genise Allsup and friend Craig Bywaters of Stuart; son David Allsup and wife Teresa of Stuart; son Rodney Allsup and wife Amy of Casey and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday December 23, 2007 at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League.

M. JANE ALLSUP

M. Jane Allsup passed away December 20, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Jane was 66 years, 1 month and 23 days old, born to Joseph and Martha Hill Smith in rural Madison County, Iowa. Jane attended Earlham School and graduated in 1959.

On May 30, 1959 she entered into marriage with Larry Allsup. To this union four children were born: Larry Joe, Genise, David, and Rodney.

They lived and ran their business, Allsup Construction, in and around the rural Stuart, area until Larry’s death in 2002. Jane was a very busy and ambitious person. She was a helpmate to her husband in his business and spent time maintaining a garden and taking care of her many flowers. Jane also cooked at the Country Kitchen in Stuart for some time. Jane loved animals and had many pets over the years. Jane raised and sold Boxer dogs at one time. The last few years she had been the caretaker of her mother Martha, who resides in Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa. If anyone wanted to get together, Jane’s was the place they all wanted to go. She will be remembered for her hospitality and love of fellowship.

Jane is survived by her son Larry Joe Allsup and wife Laurie of Redfield; daughter Genise Allsup and companion Craig Bywaters of rural Stuart; sons: David Allsup and wife Teresa of Stuart; Rodney Allsup and wife Amy of Stuart; her mother Martha Smith of Stuart; sister-in-law Gloria Merical of Adel, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Larry Allsup, father Joseph Smith, brother Willis Smith and infant twin grandsons.
