Martin Shady-Macksburg, Iowa

Martin W. Shady, 50, of Macksburg, died Nov. 5, 2007 at his home in Macksburg.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave., Creston. The Rev. Sandy Smith will officiate the service. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery at Macksburg. Military rites will be by VFW Theodore J. Martens VFW Post No. 1797 of Creston. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends 6 t0 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Martin Wayne Shady, son of Nellie Joyce (Edwards) and Forrest Dale Shady, was born March 4, 1957 in Iowa City. He grew up and was educated in Gowrie. Martin served three years in the U. S. Army. On Nov. 14, 1981, Shady married Kim Weeks in Fort Dodge. They moved to Marshall, Texas, where Martin did carpentry work, then returning to Macksburg in 1986 where he built Midland-Savannah Homes. Recently Martin was employed with Iowa Select in Afton.

Survivors include his wife Kim Shady of Macksburg; four sons, Michael Dale Shady of Fort Dodge, Jessy (wife Pam) and Travis, all of Macksburg and Tyson (wife Sienna) of Orient; daughter, Tory of Lorimor (Dave Thapp); three brothers, Ronnie (wife Pat) of Unionville, Mo., Craig (wife Mary) of Marshall, Texas and Russel (wife Donna) of Gowrie; two sisters, Debra (husband Don) Colby of Barnum and Crystal (husband John) Weeks of Macksburg; six grandchildren, Ashton, Camron, Skyler, Zaden, Weston, and Tanner; four brothers-in-law, David (wife Chris) Weeks, Danny (wife Diane) Weeks, Tim (wife Lori) Weeks and John (wife Chrystal Weeks; sister-in-law Ruth (husband Gary) Sanson; and many nieces and nephews.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, brother Randy Weeks and mother and father-in-law Barb and Lundy Weeks.
