William Duane Lang, long a familiar figure in Winterset where he had followed the vocation of piano tuner for many years, died at the Winterset hospital, Sunday, November 24th. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Lang was born November 1, 1857, in Green county, Pennsylvania. He was married to Patience Freestone on October 26, 1904. She died in 1905. Since then he has lived at the home of his widow’s sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Almon James of Winterset.
He was a faithful attendant at the Primitive Baptist church northeast of Winterset where he had been a member for nine years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery.
