MORTUARY

Mrs. L. A. Bright

Early on the morning of August 13th, the death angel came and took away one that was loved by all who knew her.

Demeris Isabelle, oldest child of Elvin and Abbie Stout, was born in Mahaska county, October 7, 1856, and lived to the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 3 days. All of these years her hands were busy doing deeds of kindness for others.

On February 10, 1877, she was married to T. W. Simmons and to them one daughter, Rose, now of Fresno, California, was born; she is left to mourn the loss with others.

On September 25, 1901, she was united in marriage to Loren A. Bright and went into his home to mother his three small children. She had long been a member of the Baptist church.

Thus has ended a life that was full of doing for others in her quiet way.

She leaves besides her devoted companion and his three children, Floyd, Roy, and Mary, her grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Cunningham of Patterson, Iowa, Miss Myrtle Stout, of California, two brothers, Butler Stout of Patterson and Sherman Stout of California, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends, the father, mother, brother, three sisters and first husband having preceded her in death a number of years ago.
