DAN CLARK, JR., IS KILLED ON HIGHWAY

Bevington Youth Struck By Truck Driven by Roy Anderson

Dan Clark, Jr., 20 years old, was killed about 8 p. m. Monday near Bevington when struck by a truck.

The accident occurred on highway No. 2, a few rods east of Bevington. Clark was walking toward Bevington when a truck driven by Roy Anderson of St. Charles came up behind him. Anderson gave dimmers to a car approaching from the west, and was so blinded by the other car’s lights that he did not see Clark. The corner of the truck bed struck and a deep gash in the back of his head.

Anderson stopped and reported the accident to Sheriff Frank Houghtaling of Indianola.

Clark was the son of Dan Clark, Sr., of northeast of Bevington. Funeral services were to be conducted this morning (Thursday) from the Catholic church in Churchville by the Rev. P. J. Casey. Burial will be made in St. Patrick’s cemetery. In addition to his father he is survived by his foster mother, a brother, Jack, and a foster brother, Eugene.
