Page 1DEATH OF MRS. ED WELTY
Macksburg – (Special) – Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Welty of Sioux City, former resident of the Macksburg neighborhood, were held from the Methodist church here February 8th. Mrs. Welty had died February 6 at her home in Sioux City, and was brought here for funeral and burial in the Moon cemetery. The Rev. M. D. Summerbell was in charge of the services.
Mrs. Welty was born near Macksburg on August 22, 1888. She married Edward Welty in July, 1908. They were the parents of eleven children. In 1925 the family moved to a farm near Sioux City, and in 1930 into that city.
The remaining near relatives are her husband; her father, John Simpson; two sisters, Mrs. Ona Kingery of Berrien Springs, Michigan and Mrs. Lora Ritter of Earlham, Iowa; a brother, Omer Simpson of Lorimor; and the children, Mrs. Eva Lecocq of Lorimor, Mrs. Fay Harrison and Mrs. Mable Davis of Luten, Iowa; Mrs. Freda Chilton of Hornick, Iowa; and Edwin, Flossie, Lyle, Wayne, Maxine, Helen, and Marvin, at home.
