Page 2Death of Ollie Beerbower.
The death of Miss Ollie Beerbower occurred last Tuesday morning at five o’clock, after a brief but very severe illness. Her death was caused by a low type of fever together with, nervous prostration, which she bore bravely, and with remarkable patience.
The deceased was a young lady of rare social and intellectual acquirements. Her life has always been that of a pure woman, one whose ambitions were directed more to acquiring the character of an accomplished and true lady, than for the worldly enjoyment and prosperity so sought after.
She possessed a multitude of friends, whose warm and faithful friendship was the consequence of her gentle and true nature. She was of that peculiar and most enviable nature which never fails to call forth the expression that “here, indeed, is a good heart.”
The young people, who were her immediate associates will mourn her loss, truly and painfully. The memory of the departed will remain with them long, around which will cling many pleasant thoughts, while at the same time grief will be fully as lasting, for the loss of one loving and noble soul.
The family have the full sympathy of the entire community. They have lost a member, whose presence was always a light and a comfort, always forgiving, gentle and kind, never missing an opportunity to promote the happiness of those by whom she was surrounded. They have, truly, lost a treasure.
The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon at four o’clock, which was attended very largely by admiring and sorrowing friends.
