J. M. Davis, former resident of Patterson, died at his home on East Green street, Sunday, May 19th, at the age of 70 years. Mr. Davis had been ill for three weeks.
The Rev. R. C. Cully, pastor of the Presbyterian church, conducted his funeral service, Tuesday afternoon, May 21, and burial was made in the Montpelier cemetery near Patterson.
Mr. Davis lived in Patterson, until seven years ago when he came to Winterset to reside. Since then he has made his home with his niece, Miss Jettie Davis. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ida Crawford of Patterson, and Mrs. Emma Handy of Patterson and several nieces and nephews. Mr. and Mrs. Squire Crawford of Des Moines, were here to attend his services.
