Mrs. Clara Hendricks Dies

Mrs. Clara Rosina Hendricks, a resident of Madison county since childhood, died suddenly following a heart attack here last Saturday, at the age of 75.

Mrs. Hendricks was the daughter of Willard and Chloe Blighton, and was born in Wisconsin, December 18, 1859. She came to Madison county with her parents as a small child, and her home was here for the remainder of her life. In 1876 she married William Hendricks who died 23 years ago. They were the parents of 12 children, two of whom died in infancy, and one, Nellie Gray, dying in 1926.

She was a member of the North River U. B. church for many years, later transferring to the Church of Christ in Winterset.

Mrs. Hendricks is survived by three daughters, Mamie Brittain of Winterset, Minnie Tate of Nasshes, Washington, and Alto Stone of Promise City; six sons, Milo, Ralph, Oliver, and Everett Hendricks of Winterset and Harley and Lee Hendricks of Minnesota; three sisters, Amy Stanley, of Montana, Lydia Stanton and Grace Franklin of Nebraska; and a brother Fred Blighton of Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Winterset on Tuesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. R. L. Olmstead. Burial was made in the United Brethren cemetery.
