Wallace Cox Died Thursday

Funeral services were held at the Collins Funeral Home here last Saturday, July 13 for Wallace Cox of Winterset. Mr. Cox died at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines last Thursday, July 11, at the age of 72.

Wallace Cox was born in Madison County on September 14, 1901, the son of Charles and Nora Etter Cox. He married Alberta Bessie Clark at Adel on May 4, 1934.

Mr. Cox farmed in Douglas township for about 30 years. He retired from farming and moved to Winterset in 1971.

He was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta; and three children, Mrs. Clifford (Lola) Johnson of Golden, Colorado; Mrs. Herbert (Delores) Youngman of Council Bluffs; and Kenneth L. Cox of Cedar Falls. Also surviving are four grandchildren and one brother, Oscar Cox of Macksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Hann officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
