MRS. HENRY L. YATES DIED LAST THURSDAY

Succumbs at Nursing Home Here at Age of 76 Years

Mrs. Henry L. Yates, life-long resident of Madison county, died here Thursday July 8 at the Peterson Nursing home. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Yates was the former Lillian Meredith Bard, daughter of John and Sarah Bard, and was born near Winterset Oct. 26, 1871. Her early life was spent with her parents on a farm in the Stringtown neighborhood. Later the family moved east of Winterset.

She was married to Henry L. Yates on March 30, 1892. They lived east of Winterset for many years, but in recent years their home had been in Winterset. They were the parents of three sons, Nestor, Ray and Roy, all of Winterset.

In addition to her husbvand and the threee sons, she leaves nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
