Died, Dr. Geo. W. Atkinson, at his home in Ohio township, March 27, at 9:45 p.m., of acute consumption, which followed influenza. Dr. Atkinson was in his 52d year.
He was born in Clarke county, Ohio. He learned the saddler trade and then read medicine. In religion he was orthodox. His wife died with the same disease in December, 1886.
There are three children left, all grown. The two oldest are sons, 24 and 26 years of age, the daughter being youngest. Some time before he died, he deeded his property to the children, of which there is enough to make them a good start in this world.
Dr. Atkinson was confined to his bed for six weeks, and his sufferings were great.
The remains were buried at Osceola, by the Knight Templars, as he was a member of that order in memory.
