Goldie Nirk, Winterset

Services for Goldie Nirk, 77, Winterset, who died Dec. 4 at the Care Center North, where she resided, were held at the Collins Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 7, with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.

Born at Ansley, Neb., on July 10, 1910, she was married to Roy Nirk at Princeton, Mo., on Feb. 14, 1942.

A homemaker, she lived here the past 10 years and lived in Des Moines for 50 years. She was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Dean Nirk of Des Moines; a daughter, Beverly Holtmyer of Winterset; brothers, Charles and Chris Helms of Nebraska and Louis Helms of California; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, two sisters and a grandson.
