DOROTHY RINGGENBERG, Winterset

Dorothy Ringgenberg, 85, of Winterset, Iowa, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 29, from noon to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6–8 p.m. at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 30, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorials given will be directed to the family for future designation.

Dorothy was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Earl and Fay (Angwin) Carder. She was married in Des Moines to Bob Ringgenberg of Winterset and had been a resident of Winterset since her marriage. Dorothy held various jobs around Winterset, but spent most of her time helping on the family farm. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, a 4-H leader, and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Dorothy was a graduate of North High School in Des Moines, and she enjoyed bowling, fishing, pets and her grandchildren. She also made Sunday dinners for many years for all the family.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bob Ringgenberg of Winterset; her daughter, Judy (Jim) Morris of Peru; a brother, Bernard Carder of Waukee; two grandchildren, Jody Lynne Morris of Winterset and SSG James R. Morris of Fort Mill, S.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Hoy of Winterset and Alexis Morris of Fort Mill, S.C.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Fay (Angwin) Carder, and a brother, Richard Carder.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel & Funeral Services in Winterset.
