Randall L. Morris, 54, died suddenly Friday at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in a work-related accident near Cherokee, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the West Liberty Community Center, 1204 North Calhoun St., West Liberty with the Rev. Mario Padilla officiating. Burial will be in the North Prairie Cemetery, West Liberty. Friends may call from 4–8 p.m. Wednesday at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. A memorial fund has been established as an educational fund for his daughter Monica.

Randall Leonard Morris was born Oct. 2, 1953, in Winterset, the son of Vernon and Joan (Miles) Morris. He graduated from Earlham High School in 1972. On June 27, he was united in marriage to the former Carla Wear in West Liberty.

Randy had worked as an electrical lineman all his life, most recently working in the construction of new power lines around the state of Iowa. He was a member of IBEW Local Union #55. He enjoyed working on his Harley Davidson motorcycles, being outdoors, hunting, and watching sports — especially watching his daughter Monica play sports. He was a collector of Harley Davidson motorcycle memorabilia and electrical insulators.

He is survived by his wife, Carla, of Nichols; two daughters, Brandy Rennich of Lake Benton, Minn., and Monica Morris of Nichols; his mother, Joan Morris of Winterset; a grandson, Miles Rennich; two sisters, Rebecca Morris and companion, Jerry, of Prairie City and Kathy (Craig) Linthicum of Lathrop, Mo.; and a brother, Richard Morris and companion, Carol, of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his father.
