A lifetime resident of Madison county, Velma Beulah Herren, 83, died at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, September 20. Daughter of John L and Anna Bell Foster Allen, she was born on December 16, 1893, in Madison county.
On April 22, 1931, she married Dean Herren in Peru, Iowa. A member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church, she belonged to the women’s society.
Velma is survived by her husband Dean; a step-son, Donald D. Herren of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
The funeral service was held at the Macksburg United Methodist Church on Friday, September 23, with Rev. John Ackerman officiating. Burial was made at Moon Cemetery, Macksburg.
