Death of a Former Resident.

From the Grip, published at Nonpariel, Box Butte county, Neb., we learn of the death of Mrs. Jennie E. Brown, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Phillips, formerly of Lee township, in this county, now of Broken Bow, Neb. That paper says:

Died—on Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock, Mrs. Jennie Brown, aged 24 years.

One year ago Mr. and Mrs. Brown were married; and started out in life with happy prospects. Never was there a happier home than was theirs; but with an unexpected suddenness all was changed. On Friday night she gave birth to a little girl, and until Monday night both were doing well, when a change for the worse set in and Wednesday afternoon she was a corpse. Mrs. Brown was a lady who possessed those qualities of goodness, intelligence and refinement that command the respect and admiration of acquaintances, and the love and esteem of friends. An unkind word was never heard to escape her lips, and in every respect she was a true, noble and Christian lady and a devoted wife. She leaves one child, a husband, and a large number of relatives to mourn her loss. May her soul shine as brightly in the fairer and better world as did her life in this one.

The body was accompanied to the old homestead near Broken Bow last evening by her husband James, his brother and sister, John and Miss Emma Brown, and Mrs. Brown’s sister, Miss Julia Phillips, where services were held in the Catholic church.
