From the Audubon County Republican----
Mrs. Francis E. Randles died at her late home in Cameron township on the morning of Tuesday, August 6, in the thirty-second year of her age, of consumption.
The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Armstrong, of Winterset, Madison county, and was born August 8th, 1857. Being surrounded by the blessings of a Christian home with inspiring examples and kind training, she developed in early life a lovable, Christian character, which distinguished her in childhood and womanhood alike, and won for her the devoted friendship of all acquaintances.
She was married to Mr. S. C. Randles June 6th, 1875, and the fruit of that union, a daughter, Mertie, now 11 years of age, is left to comfort the bereaved husband. Her brave, patient and long battle against the fatal disease is the history of all its victims—a hopeless struggle against the unrelenting foe—until she passed peacefully away yesterday morning, strong in the consciousness of a life well spent and in abiding faith in the hope beyond.
Mr. and Mrs. Randles have been residents of Audubon county for several years and have deservedly won the friendship of all acquaintances, who, deeply mourning for the loss of a near friend in the death of the faithful and loving wife, mother and neighbor, extend sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved husband and daughter.
Note: Burial was in the Cameron Center Cemetery, Audubon County, Iowa
